Jo List
I got my first piano at age 7, learned my first guitar chords on a Stella at age 12, and got my first gig with a band when I was 14. I have fronted numerous bands through the years, including Crazy Anna Zoo, Stonewood, Zonkaraz, The Shades, The Trailers, The Joeys, The Blues Eldorados, The Juice, and Liquid Jazz, and have shared the stage with Count Basie, Muddy Waters, James Montgomery, and countless ACE musicians.
I honed my studio skills and recorded my first solo album at Long View Farm Studios. "Boys and Girls" made it to Billboard Magazine's Top 100, and enjoyed a few weeks at the top of the charts in Europe as well. I was also the featured female vocalist on the recording of the soundtrack for the laser light production "Lovelight". The first of its kind, "Lovelight" premiered in Boston and then toured the country.
Before moving to Florida, I was a first-call session singer for many production houses in the Boston area, and was the primary female vocalist for rock DJ Bob Rivers' Twisted Radio production company. This group wrote and recorded many parodies for nationally syndicated radio stations. One of the projects, "Twisted Christmas", continues to get heavy seasonal airplay - especially the single "The Twelve Pains of Christmas" - and earned a gold record.
I live in Southwest Florida on a little barrier island which has served as the center of my universe since 1995.
My motto: Have fun.
In dwelling, live close to the ground.
In thinking, keep to the simple.
In conflict, be fair and generous.
In governing, dont try to control.
In work, do what you enjoy.
In family life, be completely present.
